Hair Is My Crowning Glory?

Hair Is My Crowning Glory?
Current mood: silly

I think I shall protest being a girl. Let me re-phrase that. I think I shall protest all that I have to go through to be sure that I maintain my girlish, or womanly, appearance. My main pet peeve would be:

Hair Removal.

Now, before you run away screaming ... hear me out. Why is it that we find hair unacceptable on a woman, but it is okay for a man? I am inclined to the same sentiment, but nevertheless it is one that I do not understand. You would think that by now we would have a quick and painless way to remove hair forever. I know that laser hair-removal exists, but I am thinking something a girl can grab at the drug store for say, $10 or less. But then, perhaps, you would just get what you paid for...

Shaving: This can take a decent amount of time unless one attempts the stand-in-the-shower-one-leg-up-shave-to-the-knee-to-save-time-so-that-I-can-throw-on-capris-or-a-skirt-and-run-to-work-process, which usually results in several nicks, cuts, or more major wounds. Even this "hurried" process takes 10 minutes or so. Of course one can reach for their husband/boyfriend/dad's, or their own personal, electric razor, which leaves one with the nice fuzz effect, and takes even more time then shaving in the shower or bath. Now, there is always wax, or hair removal cream, which smells like someone combined rubbing alcohol and bleach. Yes, please, I want to apply that to my  sensitive skin. It is about as effective as it sounds ... and is certainly not the quick route to take.

All this to say ... Men, appreciate the time we put into our silky smooth skin all summer long ... And don't complain if we decide to miss a day or two ... I mean really, wouldn't you?

Life will never slow down. I used to think I would actually sleep more once I was OUT of school. That is a ;oe... An eee-vil lie. Like the fru-its of the de-vil. Okay, enough of that. We all know I am insanely odd, no need to push the fact ... As I was saying ... Oh, sleep. Or, lack of sleep. Yes. You won't get any. Ever. Even, especially, on Saturdays :)

The Potter takes the clay

Within fingers filled with

The strength of the ages.

Gently they kneed; form.

The vision of splendor

shapes what the vessel will become.

The Potter's eyes shine brightly:

This Masterpiece will reflect His patience.

It will be of great use to many: resilient and strong

For He has made it so.

Yet, the clay refuses.

It folds its own direction

Refusing the shape the Potter would have it take.

With out a sigh, without a defeated spirit

The Potter begins again.

He knows what the vessel can become.

He is willing to wait; willing to repeat the arduous process;

Willing to take a lifetime to see the beauty the vessel can become.

I forgot to add that I get to meet another potential band opportunity. To guys are looking for female vocalists/keyboardist. They aren't interested in the club scene so much as weedings, parties/special occasions. They play a little bit of everything. I will be meeting them, hopefully, tomorrow morning at Sherri's - could be fun! I am excited to see where it goes. Pray that I make the right decisions :)

Happy Friday!

Well the last few weeks have been just crazy. A Creative Team Builder's Weekend and two trips to WA  ... I keep thinking I have something to do tonight, but I don't. I believe a movie is in order ... We'll see ... I still need to find a decent library, although once that happens all I will do in my free time is read.

It's March and it snowed! I woke up yesterday morning to a beautiful world of white. Work called around 7 to say that we all didn't have to be in till 10, so I got an extra 1 1/2 of sleep :) It was divine, indeed. There is still a lot of snow in different areas around here depending on elevation, and it sure is cold! I feel like I should go caroling, or something ... don't worry, I won't!

Mom, dad, Sam and Jes left foir Liberia on Tuesday. I got to spend the weekend with them, and then on Monday I took Sam and Jessi for lunch ...  It's kind of surreal -- It was nice to have them so close for a time God always has perfect timing. And He graciously gives perfect peace! These two facts, from experiece, I should know and expect by now, but so easily I forget. I pray you all are well.

Cheers,

Steph
